Dear Friend,
Thank you for visiting my blog. The sad truth about fad diets is that most of them don’t work. I’m living (thankfully) proof that there is a simple truth to diets that diet promoters won’t tell you. You’ll be surprised to learn that not only will you save money, but you’ll also save your life.
I’ll tell you how I was able to overcome the fear and anxiety over yet another diet program and discover that there is a better way to losing weight.
My name is Sarah Conrad. This is a picture of me today … happy, confident and 25 pounds lighter. I’m a 45 year old mother of three, who was struggling every day to keep the family happy, taking kids to their soccer games, making yummy lunches, volunteering at the PTA, doing laundry and yes, cooking dinner.
I never seemed to have enough time in the day for me. I was always running around so much and eating lots of unhealthy food. Because of that, I gained so much weight I didn’t want to look at myself anymore. One day I had to get ready for a party and glanced at myself in the mirror. It hit me. My life was in shambles. I had gained 37 pounds from the time that I got married and my self-esteem was in the toilet. I barely slept at all that night and got up to snack.
Eating all this food was making my life fall part
Not only had I gained a disgusting amount of weight, but I also did not exercise and ate all kinds of fast foods. Plus, I was staying up late, watching David Letterman and stuffing myself with my favorite “comfort food”, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. After almost 10 years of abusing my body, I’d had enough. I was cranky all of the time and nobody wanted to be around me. I literally felt I had hit bottom.
So, I tried the Grapefruit Diet
At that time, the grapefruit diet was “the diet.” The whole idea behind this diet is that there is some magical thing that stimulates your body to lose weight. Well, it seemed to work for me after the first 2 weeks. I lost about five pounds and generally felt healthier. But, in the third week, I lost interest in this diet, because the “menu” was too limiting and quite frankly, boring.
A few days later, I began binge eating. Not only did I gain the five pounds back, I even gained another five on top of that! I felt terrible!
Now what? I was desperate. I went on the Starvation Diet
If you’re like me, you’ve tried this diet at one time or another. You basically don’t eat anything …
anything that your body really needs to sustain itself, I mean.
You drink liquids, coffee to the max, perhaps a piece of toast … no butter, of course. Every once in a while you’ll splurge and have a piece of fruit.
Within a month, I was literally in the hospital suffering from malnutrition. Yes, I lost the 10 pounds that I had previously gained back, but at what cost? The doctor told me that if I had kept up this routine for another two weeks or so, I would have been dead from lack of nutrients.
I finally found something that worked for ME
The previous diets are just two examples of diets that I’ve tried. I must have tried at least 10 different ones, including those that require you to pay money every month to get a “nutritious” meal within your calorie count. Those diets cost me a fortune!
Then I found this one diet program called Strip That Fat.
I’d never heard of this diet before and, of course, I was skeptical. But, I read some reviews from real people. They said that it worked for them. I also realized that the cost was minimal compared to the other diets. So, I gave it a try.
The important difference about this program was that it stressed health above diet AND it customized a diet for ME … better than a generic one size diet fits all.
Why I recommend this diet
This program speaks to me as an individual. It is not an all-purpose dieting system that tried to be all things to all people. It also clears up some of the myths that have been spread about what is good to eat and what is not.
There were some ideas that seemed to go against conventional thinking. I also didn’t lose as much weight as I thought I would in my specific time period. Overall, though, I’m still amazed at the results and have lost a total of 25 pounds since going on this diet about 3 months ago.
I believe this diet is the most effective program for me. It sets realistic goals, keeps me motivated, and among other things, allows me to work my diet within my limits.
Anyway, I hope you benefit from my experiences. I don’t want anyone to have to go through the torment that I went through … trying fad diets over the last 10 years. I wish you the best and good health.
Oh, and here is the program that I’m talking about http://puresafediet.com/losingweighthealthy
Sincerely,
Sarah Conrad
P.S. These folks have a 60 day guarantee. It was nice to know that I could get my money back if the program didn’t work. Lucky me, it’s been over 3 months and so far so good.
